GRAN CANARIA AIRPORT - YOUR ESSENTIAL GUIDE
Newly renovated but still ongoing, Gran Canaria airport is actually a great airport, it's very clean and well organised.
Announcements to holidaymakers are always in Spanish and English, there is very good signage around the airport and the staff all seem very friendly.
With good shops and multiple restaurants, you can be spoilt for choice, this is a rare statement trust me for an airport!
Prices vary so it is good to check the menu price lists. There is lots of seating which is surprising for an airport and clean toilets.
Need something quick, there are lots of vending machines dotted about and good prices for bottled water, only €1.00eur which is cheap for an airport.
Wanting a VIP experience at the airport, you can for €29.00eur with their Vip Lounge but you need to pre-book on their website.
For children, there are indoor play areas to keep them busy.
When arriving you can at times be presented with long queues at check-in but the staff are quick at processing your details so you can quickly pass through security.
There are two areas for arrivals which are numbered 1 & 2 both situated on the ground level. Area 1 serves all domestic Spanish arrivals and area 2 serves all international arrivals.
With a good number of baggage carousels that all have information boards, your luggage can quickly be delivered from your aircraft so you can quickly be on your way. There are ATM machines if you need cash and also good clean toilet facilities.
Again good clear signage for the exit doors.
The overall experience at Gran Canaria airport is very good, clean well organised and a quality airport for your holiday destination.
